OUR STORY

Hi, we're Christina and Brock at Nourish the Mama! We make herbal preparations for the whole family and meals for mothers during the sacred time of postpartum.

"Becoming a postpartum cook came about organically. My partner, Christina, is a home birth midwife. She was learning more about postpartum nourishment and ordered some books on the subject. By the time she got to reading them I had already dog-eared pages and littered them with sticky notes of various colors. First, I started making some of the recipes for us to try at home, and it quickly led to her bringing meals along with her to postpartum visits. The mamas started sharing how nourishing the meals felt and how they believed it supported their healing. Now every postpartum visit Christina does, I send her with soups, teas, infusions and a variety of Ayurvedic meals for the mamas.

 

My journey has taken me many places from Amazonian shamanism in Peru, to religious and spiritual centers throughout the country. I have always had an interest in nutrition and different healing modalities. I am a certified Reiki practitioner, an EFT facilitator and bring my experience with other energetic modalities to provide a grounded and nutritionally dense meal plan to mom and baby.

 

Nourish the Mama was born out of a need I saw to provide this service to mamas in the community. It feels wonderful to bring together my passion for being of service and my background in healing.

 

I am excited to empower families with both the food and knowledge during this critical time of healing and rejuvenation. This is often a tender, sometimes stressful period of transition for a family. My intention is to support mamas’ healing by providing nutritious, delicious food based on centuries old knowledge. There are many ancient traditions throughout the world that support mothers during their postpartum time and I encourage anyone interested in learning more to pick up “The First Forty Days: The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother.”
